Our engineering team develops innovative products, and collaborates with both product and design teams from the beginning to create outstanding features. We have the mind and soul of SaaS startup, and work in quick iterations to continuously perfect our application!

Our tech stack is rooted in Python, with our backend being powered by Django. Our frontend utilizes a mix of vanilla JavaScript, jQuery/Bootstrap, AngularJS, Django templating, and Elm (we’re trying to consolidate, I promise!).

In this role you will...

    • Maintain all our environments (Dev, Staging, DB, Warehouse, Analytics) and scale our production services in Rackspace

    • Improve our scalability, reliability, capacity, security & performance

    • Build internal tools on Python and Chef to support infrastructure

    • Participate in on-call rotation, and be responsible for the uptime of our infrastructure.

    • Troubleshoot incidents, test out hypotheses and find root-causes

    • Migrate our infrastructure to AWS environment

Some projects you will be apart of...

    • Build out scalable infrastructure of our Web, DB Servers

    • Define the AWS Infra architecture from Rackspace and migrate the environment

    • Increase efficiency and develop best practices to help us build a scalable platform that helps doctors run their practice more efficiently

    • Tighten our platform security and address infrastructure vulnerabilities

You have...

    • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and experience working with open source software (such as MySQL, Celery, Redis, HAProxy, Nginx etc)

    • Experience with Python and DjangoExperience working with MariaDB/MySQL/RedShift DB and DB Administration

    • Understand modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST)

    • Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, Fabric, Docker, etc.

    • Experience with deploying web apps to cloud infrastructure (Rackspace and AWS) and working with distributed, service-oriented architecture

A key component to our EMR is our Billing Software, an intuitive set of applications and tools that allows making the billing operations easier for our Customers and in-house Billers and Coders. As the PM of the Billing team, you will own the end to end experience, all the way from the product experience to our market positioning. You will be responsible for developing and executing on the vision, strategy, and roadmap that enables providers to get to the highest quality for all appropriate needs, while reducing the operational complexities of our product workflow. In your job, you are well equipped to write business requirements into functional requirement specification documents and functional designs for electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software (PMS) applications. As a leader, you are highly-accountable with strong interpersonal skills in working with Engineers, RCM Operation leaders, Vendors and Customers. You function effectively in a busy environment with little or no supervision and are comfortable making independent decisions.

In this role you will...

    • Research the existing product and customer requests to determine the desired functionality.

    • Understand and analyze user needs using both quantitative and qualitative tactics.

    • Lead the full product cycle: ideation, research, design, development, launch, and iteration.

    • Create wireframes of proposed UI for the assigned modules.

    • Write functional specifications based on the research and meetings done for each module assigned.

    • A certification as a certified coder (plus).

    • Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections and payment posting, revenue cycle, third party payers, Medicare.

    • An understanding of CPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes and procedural modifiers, claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits and appeal processes.

    • Experience in any of the EMR software and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

    • Experience with Agile methodology.

We are looking for a technical leader to serve as a mentor and coach for set of engineers in our Billing team. This role will involve both Coaching, Managing and Technical activities including strategic technical direction of the team, performing design and code reviews, as well as working on new features and bug fixes.


A critical aspect of this role is the ability to remain a strong hands-on technologist while also being able to offer support, insight, coaching, and proactively surface ideas and concerns of your direct reports. Strong time-management skills and experience in highly autonomous roles is critical. As a leader, you are highly-accountable with strong interpersonal skills in working with Engineers, RCM Operation leaders, Vendors and Customers. Overview of Job Functions and Duties:

    • Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of our billing and RCM applications & services

    • Development and deployment of new product features to facilitate rapid iteration and constant growth.

    • Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in cloud-hosted Rackspace and AWS environments.

    • Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind.

Skills & Qualifications
